create a bootable usb

Installing windows on your laptop or computer is not a difficult problem when you have no options for CD-ROM. Here i am going to show you how eaisy is to make your USB bootable and install windows. USB works the same way as CD, but we have to make the USB bootable first. This tutorial is for the windows 7,8 and later operating systems.

Follow these steps:

First you have to decide which operating system you want to install on your PC i.e windows 7 or windows 8
once you decide go to the microsoft official website or any other source to download windows .iso file.Download windows
Once you download windows make sure that you have a USB with atleast  4 GB space. Insert into the computer and format the USB. Once you complete formatting unzip the windows folder into your USB i.e extract the windows into USB and follow these steps to make USB bootable:

  1. Go to the search option and type 'cmd'
  2. you will see command prompt screen, now type 'diskpart'
  3. a new window will open that is administrator command prompt, on the new screen type 'list disk'
  4. You will see a list of disk option, make sure to select your USB, now type 'select disk 1' if the disk 1 is USB
  5. it will show that 'Disk 1 is now the selected disk'
  6. after that type 'list partition'
  7. it will show you a list of partitions, mostly it shows one option, now type, 'select partition 1' and press enter
  8. Now type 'active'
  9. and then type 'assign' and press enter
  10. and type exit to exit the command prompt window.
Now you will see the windows icon on your USB and it is ready to boot windows.
For installing windows restart your pc and select boot USB drive in boot options. I hope this simple tutorial will help you out, good luck..:)
